Beas Kund Trek is a beautiful beginner-friendly trek near Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The trek has gained quite a bit of traction among adventure and nature lovers owing to its beauty. The trek takes you to the source of the Beas River, the beautiful river that flows through Manali. The Beas Kund is cradled between the Pir Panjal Ranges and adds to the scenic beauty of the surroundings. Many streams and rivulets branch off from the Beas Kund and converge into the Beas River below. It is believed that Maharishi Vyas, the sage who wrote Mahabharata, used to take baths regularly here and hence the lake is named Beas Kund.

Major Attractions
The Towering Mountain Views
The Beas Kund Trek takes you to a vantage point from where you can see some of the most stunning Himalayan peaks. The towering peaks near Manali like Friendship Peak, Hanuman Tibba, and Shitidhar Peaks dominate the skyline in all their snow-covered glory. If the sky is clear, you may also spot Deo Tibba, Indrasen, and the Pir Panjal Ranges.

The Coniferous Forests
As soon as you start the trek, you will enter into an ancient forest of Deodar trees. The trees appear standing like towering giants appearing like the protectors of the region. The forest is dense and adds a mystical touch to the trek.

The Meadows of Dhundi and Bakarthach
The meadows of Dhundi and Bakarthach are absolutely pretty. These meadows are grazing ground for animals and in spring and summer, the meadows are carpeted with beautiful wildflowers in bloom. From the Dhundi campsite, you can see the Beas River flowing and making a gurgling sound. This creates a perfect setting where nature is dressed in abundant beauty.

The Beas Kund
Beas Kund is the main highlight of the trek. Marking the origin of the Beas River, this lake holds both geographical and scenic importance. Nestled between high peaks, with mighty mountains surrounding the campsite, Beas Kund is a symbol of nature’s abundant beauty.
